About This Hamper

The East India Company had an eye for the most intriguing, the most exceptional, the most beautiful, and the most delicious delicacies. Four hundred years after it was first granted a Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth I, this historic company is still searching out the best in fine food and drink, spices and sweet delights.

The King’s Ransom hamper from Harrods combines some of the East India Company’s most historic discoveries with the most modern and beguiling items, making this hamper a truly wonderful find.

The hamper itself is reminiscent of merchants from centuries past, as it is a leather trunk that wouldn’t look out of place on the deck of a vast sailing ship bound for exotic shores. Within the trunk (embossed with the Harrods’ name) are bounties of edible treasures, perfect to be shared at Christmas, or relished on a birthday.

For the traditionalist, there are six different teas, including peppermint and Bombay chai. There is coffee from India which combines two of the world’s oldest flavours. There are shortbread biscuits, chocolate covered raspberries, and bone china mugs. On the more exotic side there is chilli jelly, strawberry and pepper jam, Lapsang Souchong mustard, and black and green olive marmalade.

From 1600 to now, the East India Company has known what people want. So trust them, and try everything in the King’s Ransom hamper from Harrods. You’ll be glad you did!

The Type of Hamper

Perfect for those that know their foie gras from their caviar, these gourmet hampers are likely to tickle anyone's taste buds, but particularly those who consider themselves foodie connoisseurs.

The Perfect Occasion

Ideal for Christmas Christmas hampers are arguably the most popular of all hamper categories and this hamper is no exception. It features a selection of festive goodies and treats to be enjoyed along or shared with friends and family!

The Presentation

A presentation box is usually made of thick sturdy coloured cardboard and most of the times has a magnetic flip-open lid. If you want a hamper with a thoughtful impact, but without the cost of a wicker basket, then this is the next best thing. The presentation box can be reused for storage after the contents of the hamper have been consumed.
